A Brief Review of Windows 8
Recently, I was able to upgrade my operating system to Microsoft's latest entry into their Windows line: Windows 8. I had heard a great deal of negativity coming from friends and family in regards to the operating system. However, I felt that the best way to decide whether or not it would be worth my time was to experience it in action for myself.
Honestly, I don't find it bad at all.
For one, I find that my computer boots from BIOS to log in much faster than it did when I used Windows 7 and XP! Where it once took close to a minute, it's now taking me an average of twenty five seconds to get rolling!
Another point of contention for some folks is the use of Apps. However, I find that I'm using the apps quite often, and I find many of them to be helpful. For example, there's the Xbox Smartglass app. Being an avid video gamer, I like being able to check my Xbox Live Gamerscore, message my friends, and browse the latest add-ons and arcade games from my PC, without having to walk over and power on my Xbox.
There's much more I can share with you, but I would like to keep this short and sweet. I will close by saying that Windows 8 certainly wasn't a waste of my money. I suggest you visit your local electronics store and ask an associate for a demonstration. Hopefully, you'll reach the same conclusion.
